Man, 43, from Mt Barker dies after serious crash on Main South Rd at Sellicks Beach

A 43-year-old Adelaide Hills man has died after a shocking crash between a Mercedes-Benz and a motorcycle on Monday afternoon.

A Mount Barker man has died following a crash at Sellicks Beach on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Main South Rd and Country Rd, Sellicks Beach, just before 4.15pm, after reports of a serious crash between a car and a motorcycle.

The rider, a 43-year-old man from Mount Barker, died at the scene.

The 35-year-old woman from Moana, who was driving the Mercedes-Benz station wagon, was not injured but was taken to Noarlunga Hospital as a precaution.

Major Crash officers went to the scene to examine the circumstances that led up to the collision.

A large section of the road was closed between the Victory Hotel, at Sellicks Beach and Reservoir Rd, at Myponga with traffic diverted via Willunga and Pages Flat.

The roads were closed for several hours, but have since reopened.

The man’s death is the 67th life lost on SA roads this year, compared to 40 at the same time last year.
