49-year-old man killed in horror crash at Craigmore

A 49-year-old man has died, and two children who were on board are in hospital, after a crash between two cars in Adelaide’s north on Friday morning.

A 49-year-old man has died following a crash between two cars at Craigmore in Adelaide’s north on Friday morning.

Police responded to reports of a crash between a black Volkswagen sedan and a white Holden sedan on Uley Rd, near Beatrix Dr, just after 8.30am.

The driver of the Volkswagen, from Hewett, died at the scene.

Two children in the car were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The 48-year-old male driver of the Holden, from Paralowie, was also taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was assisting police with their investigation.

Road closures are in place and police are urging motorists to avoid the area.

At 12pm, the white Holden remained sideways on the road while Major Crash officers investigated the scene.

At the point on Uley Rd where the cars collided, the speed limit drops from 80 to 60km/h heading citybound, going 100km/ h minutes earlier.

Road closures are in place between Chapman Dr and Cornishmans Hill Rd.

There have so far been 12 lives lost on South Australian roads this year.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage to contact them.
