Police are investigating after a home was shot at in Adelaide’s southwest, with multiple bullet holes peppering a garage door.

Police are investigating a terrifying incident where multiple gun shots were fired at a home in Adelaide’s southwest, with bullets peppering a garage door.

Patrols were called to Raglan Ave, South Plympton, about 11.45pm on Sunday after reports gunshots were heard in the street.

Police arrived and found thirteen bullet holes in the garage door of the family home.

It followed an altercation at the property the night before and a subsequent car fire at Hawthorn which destroyed a white Nissan X-TRAIL.

Police say the gun attack was not a random incident.

Crime scene investigators combed the scene for evidence and investigations are continuing.

No one was injured in the incident which has left neighbours shocked and frightened.

The Advertiser understands two residents – who requested to remain anonymous – living in two separate properties along the street, heard “loud bangs” at the time of the incident, but initially thought the sounds were of a car crash.

Another resident, Aaron Cianter, told 7News he heard sounds of a similar nature.

“There was quite a few loud shots like ‘bang, bang, bang,” Mr Cianter said.

“I went to the door but I didn’t have a look but I didn’t see nothing.”

The Serious and Organised Crime Branch are investigating the incident along with any links to other incidents.
