The family of 23-year-old Dakota Woodford, who was fatally stabbed in Paralowie last Tuesday, have remembered the young concreter as having “an extremely trusting nature”, who was “always the first to give somebody the benefit of the doubt”.

Amy Bivone from Salisbury Downs, believed to be a family member of the victim, said they were still grieving their “sweet boy” one week after his death and struggling to come to terms with the “incomprehensible loss”.

“Tuesday the 27th of February changed our lives forever,” Ms Bivone wrote.

“Dakota was taken way too soon at the young age of 23.”

“Completely robbed of his right to grow old and grey alongside his two brothers and become the man he dreamed to be.

“Dakota had an enormous heart, full of compassion and kindness, always the first to give somebody the benefit of the doubt.

“(He) had an extremely trusting nature, who touched the hearts of all who met him.”

Ms Bivone has started a GoFundMe hoping to raise $15000 to “alleviate the load that our family are trying to bear”.

More than $5000 has been raised in the last three days through 57 individual donations.

“This is heartbreaking,” Belinda Williams wrote on the GoFundMe page.

“I’m so sorry for this unimaginable loss, rest peacefully sweet Kods,” Gemma Martin wrote.

Similar outpourings have been made on Facebook since news of his death broke last week.

“We will miss you kid,” Lauren Barton wrote, followed by a post from Nicole Kristian, “RIP Dakota, you’ll be missed”.

Friends of the victim were seen last Wednesday in front of the Adelaide Magistrates Court, when the man charged with his murder was due to face court.

“(We’re) here for Koda, that’s it” one friend said as he left the court.

Chloe Sefton, a close friend of Mr Woodford, told 7NEWS last Wednesday that he was a “lovely” young man.

“I never heard him say a nasty thing about anyone,” she said.

“He’s always the life of the party … Always a jokester.

“He’s just such a good guy and I just don’t understand it.”

Mr Woodford was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital on February 27, following an altercation in his grandparents’ Paralowie home on Henry St on February 27.

An ambulance was called to the property around 7am and the victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he died a few hours later from his stab wounds.

Less than three hours after the fatal stabbing, police arrested a 27-year-old man in Trott Park, some 40km away from the crime scene.

The accused man now facing murder charges appeared in court via audio visual link from the City Watchhouse last Wednesday.

A suppression order concealing his identity has been requested by police and will be reviewed.

It is believed the accused man and the victim were known to each other.

The man made no application for bail and was remanded in custody until his next hearing in June.

The suppression order concealing his identity will be reviewed next month.
