Dramatic footage has captured police pointing weapons at a murder suspect in Trott Park, hours after a fatal stabbing in Paralowie.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning at 9.45am, just hours after 23-year-old Dakota ‘Koda’ Woodford was fatally stabbed in his grandparent’s home.

Two police officers can be seen drawing their weapons and pointing them at the Sheidow Park man.

Officers then surround the man on the ground, before cuffing him and taking him into police custody.

The man, who is believed to be known to the victim, has been charged with murder.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Just before 7am on Tuesday emergency services were called to Henry St, Paralowie after reports a man had been stabbed.

He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with critical injuries but died a short time later.

Police confirmed there were other occupants in the Henry St house at the time of the incident, and one of them had called emergency services.

No one else was injured in the attack.

Mr Woodford is believed to be of Maltese background and a qualified concreter.

Just before midday, a man believed to be the brother of the victim came out to Henry St, which was still closed off as police continued their investigation and forensic officers could be seen entering the house.

The man, believed to be the victim’s brother, was visibly upset, crying while two officers spoke to him, before putting on a pair of sunglasses.

After seeing the media and cameras, he yelled “my brother has just died and I can’t even visit the place where he died because you guys are there”.

He turned away and left while saying “No f***ing respect, you got no f***ing respect”.

Police confirmed the man had died in Royal Adelaide Hospital.

They have released video from the scene which shows bloodstains on the driveway.

SA Police Superintendent Julie Thomas said the motive of the attack remained under investigation but murder charges were expected to be laid.

Supt Thomas said the man was assisting police with their inquiries but the investigation remained in its “very early stages”.

Police investigators were seen at the home of the Sheidow Park man accused of murder, searching his home and the contents of his rubbish bins.

Police have not confirmed whether the murder weapon has been recovered.

“We believe that the victim may have been stabbed and that is the line of inquiry at this stage, but that is also a matter for the coroner,” she said.

Police said it was not yet clear why the 27-year-old alleged attacker was at the 23-year-old’s home.
