Dakota ‘Koda’ Woodford has been identified as the 23-year-old man who died after a stabbing at Paralowie, in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

Dramatic footage shows police arresting a 27-year-old suspect on Tuesday morning in relation to the incident.

He was charged with murder.

Just before 7am on Tuesday emergency services were called to Henry St, Paralowie after reports a person had been stabbed.

The young man was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with critical injuries but died a short time later.

Police have released video from the scene which shows bloodstains on the driveway.

SA Police Superintendent Julie Thomas said the motive of the attack remained under investigation but murder charges were expected to be laid.

Supt Thomas said no one else at the property had been injured in the attack and the suspect was known to the alleged victim.

At about 9.45am on Tuesday morning, a 27-year-old Sheidow Park man was arrested in the vicinity of Trott Park, near O’Halloran Hill, about 40km away from the stabbing scene in Adelaide’s south.

Supt Thomas said the man was assisting police with their inquiries but the investigation remained in its “very early stages”.

“We believe that the victim may have been stabbed and that is the line of inquiry at this stage, but that is also a matter for the coroner,” she said.

Police said it was not yet clear why the 27-year-old alleged attacker was at the 23-year-old’s home.

Henry St, a quiet road next to Bolivia Reserve, has been closed off by police since 7am on Tuesday morning.

Police at the scene said most residents had already left for work before the road was shut.

At 11am three police cars, one van and at least one unmarked police vehicle were parked on there, with two closing off the road.

A police van with a cluster of officers and at least two forensic officers could be seen speaking a few houses down from the house where the incident took place.

It’s the latest in a serious of violent crimes that have swept Adelaide in the past 24 hours.

On Monday, a popular restaurant was firebombed early that morning in North Adelaide. Then several hours later, shots were fired at two workers in a separate incident across town in Wayville.

In the firebombing, masked thugs hurled petrol bombs through the glass door of Ammos Greek bistro on O’Connell St, just after 3am, causing more than $100,000 damage.

Five hours later, a gunman opened fire on a female disability care worker and a man in the underground carpark of a Greenhill Rd building, home to charities and Scouts SA.

The terrifying incident, in which at least two shots were fired, happened about 8am as peak hour traffic rushed by the building – and within metres of neighbouring Annesley Junior School.
