A new $4m McDonald’s on Brighton Rd will open early September, generating 120 jobs and injecting more than $10.6m into the local economy.

The McDonald’s Hove restaurant has been fitted with “modern decor”, and features a dual-lane drive-through, dedicated partner delivery room, McCafe and PlayPlace for customers.

Franchise owner Matthew Rogers said he was looking forward to “providing feel-good moments” for his new customers in Adelaide’s south.

“We are excited to open our doors on McDonald’s Hove and provide jobs, training and development opportunities for the local community,” Mr Rogers said.

“The new restaurant will provide customers with a friendly and convenient place to access food and drinks, whether they’re popping in for a quick coffee or staying for lunch.

“As a local business, we are proud to support local charities and groups that are important to our customers and people.”

It comes as part of a business boom for Brighton Rd – joining Fransesca’s Pizza and Lenny’s Bagel Deli as the latest hospitality venues to open the doors to the public within just the past few months.

Francesca’s Pizza + Sandos has opened inside the former location of Hey Bianca, moving from its Anzac Highway home after changing the pizza game with its folded-up pizza – a pizza portafoglio.

Meanwhile, Lenny’s Bagel Deli opened about two months ago, while Blue & Roo – a gourmet dog food store – has opened at 339 Brighton Rd, boasting all natural ingredients made in SA.

The new McDonald’s will be built at 346 Brighton Rd, near the Cecelia St intersection and across from Hove Foodland.

Throughout the construction period the development generated 100 jobs, and once operational, 120 further jobs will be created across crew, barista, management and maintenance roles.

McDonald’s Hove has been fully equipped with solar panels, a heat recovery water system and LED lighting – helping to reduce emissions and energy use in the restaurant.

It will open on Monday, September 2, and hold a grand opening on September 7 with face painting and giveaways.

Three local club sponsorships valued at $1500 are on offer, with local clubs encouraged to wear their uniforms on the day.
