It sounds like Rebecca “Bec” Morse is finding her voice again after her shock exit from SAFM.
It’s less than a week since news broke that the popular media identity had left the station.
But the 47-year-old has now revealed she might host a podcast down the track.
Morse admitted to being too “emotional” to return to the studio following her axing.
It came after her co-host Mark “Soda” Soderstrom announced he had to quit because he was dealing with “biggest challenge” of his life.
“I was told on Tuesday that my contract would not be renewed and was offered the opportunity to see out the week,” Morse said on social media.
“Unfortunately the way the events unfolded meant I felt emotionally unable to return …”
But now Morse has hinted to her more than 35,500 followers on Instagram that she’s considering having her own podcast.
Her Insta post features pictures of the ocean – she calls Henley Beach home – and shows that she’s taking time out with loved ones; there are photos of kids enjoying ice creams, an Indian banquet and a green smoothie, with a coffee.
Morse gave her supporters a shout out saying “a big thank you is in order before I resume normal programmin️g”.
She added: “Believe it or not I don’t have my head up my arse so I am well aware that I am not the first person to lose a job that I love.”
In her sign off – a response to suggestions she do her own thing – Morse hinted what could be her next move career-wise: “Re a podcast. I’m not sure the world needs another one. but I’ll think about it.”
Morse studied journalism at UniSA before being one of just two students in her year to secure a cadetship with the ABC, where she worked in radio and TV.
She left Aunty to work for Network 10 as a newsreader. Six years ago, when she was still at Ten, she joined SAFM.
In 2020 she lost her TV gig, when Ten decided to broadcast its news service out of Sydney.
A regular on the social scene, Morse has been in demand to host events around town and was also named a fashion icon in an ADL Fashion Week campaign.
Bernie Vince and Emma “Emma G” Georgiadis will host a revamped SAFM breakfast radio show from November 11.
