South Australian fitness influencer and personal trainer Kayla Itsines has taken to Instagram to address why she wants her pre-baby body back months after giving birth.
The trainer, who has over 15 million followers on Instagram, posted a reel explaining why she wants her body back.
“I want my body back, and I’m happy to own it,” Ms Itsines captioned the video.
The fitness guru went on to explain that “bounce back culture” can be a sensitive topic for most mums due to the amount of pressure put on them to look the same as they did pre baby.
Ms Itsines explains in the video that she wants to feel the same as she did before having children more than anything else.
“It didn’t mean that I wanted to look like I looked before, I just meant I want to feel like I felt before,” she said.
“I think there’s this big stigma or issue around saying I want my body back but when people say that, especially mums, they don’t mean the physical they mean how they mentally feel.”
The guru continued saying she doesn’t want others to compare themselves to her.
“I eventually will most likely look like what I looked like a year ago but that doesn’t mean that the pressure needs to be on you to do the same, this is literally my job,” she said.
“I don’t want people to compare themselves to me.
“That’s my journey and it’s super hard, please don’t compare yourself to me.”
