A northern suburbs man allegedly took a woman by force and had sex with her while in the company of others, a court has heard.
Anthony Yu Tung Fung, 27, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with one count of aggravated taking a person to marry or have sexual intercourse and one count of aggravated engage in sexual intercourse without consent.
Mr Fung, of Dry Creek, is yet to enter any pleas for both major indictable charges.
In front of Chief Magistrate Mary-Louise Hribal, prosecutors requested a six-week adjournment due to outstanding evidence from the alleged victim and a “large amount” of CCTV which needed analysing.
Court documents, obtained by the Advertiser, allege Mr Fung committed the offences in October last year.
“(Mr Fung) committed rape by engaging in sexual intercourse with (the complainant) without her consent and knew, or was recklessly indifferent, to the fact she did not consent,” the documents said.
“It is further alleged that the circumstances of aggravation are that the offender committed the offence in company with one or more other persons.
Chief Magistrate Hribal granted the prosecution’s adjournment request and remanded Mr Fung on continuing bail.
He will return to court in June, and is set to answer the charges later this year.
