Farmyard favourite Shaun The Sheep will ram into the Regent Theatre in April.
The woolly wonder and eponymous star of the British hit stop-animation television series will take centre stage in Shaun The Sheep’s Circus Show on April 14.
The show is a collaboration between Shaun The Sheep creators Aardman, in Bristol, and Australia’s Circa Contemporary Circus.
Circa director Yaron Lifschitz said: “The medium of circus is a perfect vehicle for bringing these qualities to the stage. Melding the worlds of stage and screen and incorporating the extreme physicality of circus, without losing the emotional depth and charm of the original, is a major creative challenge.”
He added: “Shaun the Sheep is a playful, rambunctious feast of humour, good spirits and the triumph of the little guy.”
Mr Lifschitz said the show includes animated animals and burlesque.
Aardman’s managing director Sean Clarke said the show aims to appeal to all age levels.
“It’s essential to try and capture the spirit of the TV show; something the whole family enjoys With no dialogue, performance is so important. We incorporate lots of acrobatics and physical slapstick.”
