Salim Mehajer has copped criticism for his fake features and now his best mate is in strife about fake designer shoes — 120 pairs of them.

Detectives turned up to Ahmed Jagbhir’s Lidcombe property last Wednesday after receiving a tip that the 31-year-old was selling cheap as chips Nikes, Gucci and Givenchy knock-offs online.

According to police, a staffer working in Nike’s brand protection team recently found Jagbhir allegedly selling the kicks at bargain bin prices and told police.

The undercover customer bought a pair of Nike TNs for $80 and a pair of Gucci shoes for $70.

Detectives found Jagbhir’s address listed on a Facebook marketplace post and allegedly found 102 pairs of Nike shoes, 20 pairs of Gucci shoes and four pairs of Givenchy shoes — all fakes — inside his home.

Police allege his side hustle represented a potential profit loss to the brands of $47,800. Jagbhir was charged with selling goods with false trademarks and refused bail in Burwood Local Court.

WONDER WOMAN

She’s already won a bravery award for saving two men from floods in 2016 and now Leading Senior Constable Amanda Vidler has added another jewel to her glittering career crown.

On Friday night, she beat a competitive field of drug-busting, killer-catching colleagues to claim the 2019 NSW Police Officer of the Year award.

The bomb appraisal officer was recognised for her dedication to getting people out of tight places, from cliff, road, land and flood rescues to “the things you don’t want to speak about”.

Sen-Constable Vidler, also a police drone operator, cut her teeth as a State Emergency Service volunteer and joined the force 13 years ago.

Now she leads a team of eight performing search and rescues across the entire north coast.

On some occasions, her husband — an SES volunteer — has been in the trenches with her.

“We used to go out a bit together,” she said. “We try not to do that any more because we have two young boys so we have to start thinking of them.”

YOUTH PROBLEMS

A war is brewing between police and one of the state’s most critical youth clubs.

Four years ago, Lance Chaloner swept in as Mt Druitt PCYC manager and was credited with cleaning up the neglected club.

But internal complaints that ended up in The Snitch’s inbox this week paint a different picture.

There are frequent blow-ups between the PCYC staff and the police tasked to help them, cancellation of programs because there is no staff to run them, children left unsupervised, and
an unhelpful turnover of activities officers.

NSW Police seem to be retreating with rumoured plans to cut back on youth case managers at the Mt Druitt centre.

We can’t imagine the top brass will be too pleased, given one of Commissioner Mick Fuller’s babies has been strengthening the relationship between police and youth.
