Trains heading into the city were back up and running on Tuesday morning as commuters travelled into work and school after the Easter long weekend.
It comes after 10-days of major track closures were announced earlier this month due to work on the Cross River Rail.
Closures began over the Easter long weekend, but the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines would be impacted until April 24.
The Easter long weekend track closures, which impacted lines heading into the city, have been resolved in time for commuters to head back to work.
Schools have also returned in time for the start of term two on Tuesday.
Cross River Rail Delivery Authority CEO Graeme Newton commented on the track closures last week.
“We appreciate some people will be inconvenienced and we apologise in advance, but the scheduled closure means crews can undertake major works safely and efficiently in the rail corridor,” Mr Newton said.
Nine different train lines were impacted by the Cross River Rail work from Good Friday until Easter Monday.
But the Beenleigh, Gold Coast, Airport, Ferny Grove and Ipswich/Springfield lines still have service changes from Tuesday.
Service on the Ferny Grove line is set to finish by Friday, while the other four lines continue to have changes over this weekend.
Head of TransLink Sally Stannard has encouraged commuters on these lines to plan ahead.
“Customers on the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines in particular should make sure they plan their travel in advance as disruptions on these lines will extend beyond the Easter weekend to the start of the new school term and during the work week,” Ms Stannard said.
“However, it is worth noting that trains will run to a public holiday timetable on ANZAC Day, with additional early morning services for customers to attend the dawn service.”
The full list of closures can be found on TransLink’s website.
