The Scoop: Celebs hit South East Queensland in wake of Cyclone Alfred

A familiar face from the 90s hit Beverly Hills 90210 has been spotted wining and dining at a Fortitude Valley restaurant, and on a film set in Caboolture in the wake of ex-TC Alfred. WE’VE GOT THE SCOOP

It’s been a star-studded few weeks in South East Queensland, despite the unwelcome presence of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, with none other than US actor Brian Austin Green spotted out and about all over town.

Green, best known playing David Silver in the 1990s hit series Beverly Hills 90120 also starring the late Shannen Doherty, has been on an Australian speaking tour talking to fans about his time on the show and promoting Melbourne-based child sex abuse charity Left Write Hook.

The tour included an exclusive lunch for 12 on the Gold Coast last week.

But we hear that’s not all he is here for, spotted decked out in his finest zombie hunter gear in Caboolture this week, Green is supposedly also here filming for his role in upcoming Radioactive Entertainment film Zombie Plane, alongside former Neighbours star Nicky Whelan.

Scoop caught the pair and a large group wining and dining at top Italian noshery Ristorante Tartufo in Fortitude Valley this week, where they were apparently amazing to serve.

Green was described by onlookers as a “true gentleman” who was just relaxing and enjoying his night.

Owner of Tartufo, veteran Queensland restaurateur Tony Percuoco, posted pics of Green and Whelan on Instagram, posing with autographed dinner plates.

“What beautiful people,” the restaurant gushed on Instagram.

Green and Whelan also starred together in the 2010 American anthology series Suite 7.

HANNAH HITS RIGHT NOTE

Country music sensation Zach Bryan has been spotted cosying up with rumoured new girlfriend, Aussie Hannah Duncan.

Insiders say the pair flew into Brisbane together after a series of spottings in the Big Apple, before heading north to Noosa. Despite speculation Bryan was in town for a surprise performance at CMC Rocks festival at Willowbank next weekend, it seems more likely the Something in the Orange singer simply enjoyed a trip to the sunny shores of Queensland to spend time with his new lady love before she settled in to celebrate a friend’s impending nuptials.

Scoop spies can reveal the pair had been staying at the $3500-a-night Azure in Sunshine Beach, which was previously named the most beautiful property in Queensland. Whether he’s escaping the up-and-down drama of the breakdown of his last relationship, which apparently blindsided Bryan’s ex after he announced it on social media without informing her first, or if he’s here for a surprise show or just a loved-up trip Down Under, he’s certainly making himself comfortable.

NAKED HARVEST FOUNDER’S NEW $6.5M HOME

It’s been a big couple months for Naked Harvest founder Georgie Stevenson, who recently announced her second pregnancy after a battle with fertility issues and has also expanded her property portfolio.

A little dig has shown Stevenson and her husband Tim Crouch recently bought a $6.5m four-bed property in Reedy Creek, situated on a sprawling 4100sq m block overlooking the Gold Coast.

The sale was managed by Amir Prestige who described the property as “the epitome of hinterland lifestyle extravagance”.

Despite the opulence, the new digs are a bit of a downgrade on their previous home in Currumbin, which had five bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths.

We hear the couple have opted to rent out that property, which they bought for upwards of $7m in 2022, for a whopping $5500a week.

JADE LACEY’S CELEB ENCOUNTERS

Notorious Gold Coast identity Jade Lacey has had his second brush with a Hollywood star on the Glitter Strip in less than six months.

Last September, Lacey – one half of the infamous Lacey brothers former gangster duo – posted a social media photo of him posing with Mark Wahlberg at celebrity hangout The Langham Hotel in Surfers Paradise.

This week, Lacey posted a pic (right) of him with funnyman Jack Black, who has also been on the Coast shooting a new movie, Anaconda, co-starring Paul Rudd.

“Amazing who you run into during a cyclone,” Lacey wrote.

Lacey and brother Dionne served years behind bars for crimes including a drug-related fatal shooting.

HIGH-SPEED GLAMOUR

Brisbane based contemporary couturier Joteo dressed two major names for this week’s Formula 1 Glamour on the Grid.

Tahan Lew-Fatt (on right), partner of V8 supercars driver David Reynolds, was Joash Teo’s (Joteo, inset) only planned presence for the event after being connected by Melbourne stylist Bec Modara of Locarno Styling. But a last-minute twist had Nicole Piastri (on left), mother of F1 McLaren driver Oscar Piastri, in awe and eager to be dressed by them.

gnature code, and iconic use of wiring. While Lew-Fatt’s corsetted piece, created over a couple of weeks, seamlessly blended elegance with her own “vivacious flare” with its sultry red crystal satin and daring neckline, Piastri’s gown exuded gentle glamour with its “La Femme’ neckline and faux hourglass shape.

Hard to believe the deep blue stunner was created in just a couple of days.

Joteo describes the designing of Piastri’s dress as a “right place and right time” twist of fate, after a quick phone hook-up by a mutual friend, she arrived at the Melbourne office, and fell in love.
