A Gold Coast social media star has seen his luxury car wrapping business go up in flames in what police believe is a suspicious blaze.
The Arundel headquarters of Eye Candy Motorsports, run by influencer Troy Williams, aka Troy Candy, burst into flames about 3.30am on Wednesday.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in the Distribution Ave factory but police said it had caused “significant damage”.
It’s understood about six vehicles including a Rolls Royce were inside the custom car wrap business.
A ladder and rope were found at the scene and CCTV cameras captured two men with torches acting suspiciously.
It was the second suspicious fire at the industrial complex in five days but police said it was unclear if they were linked.
Williams, who has more than 240,000 Instagram followers, posted in a story that “unfortunately something horrible has happened”.
“Thankfully everyone is OK but I really need time to process this,” he told his followers.
“Please give me space, I don’t want people asking me questions. You’ll most likely see it on the news.
“But yes we are all safe and no-one is harmed … just feeling very broken at the moment.
“I will explain everything when I’m ready.”
