Reality TV star Abbie Chatfield has revealed she checks the locks at her house every night because of the amount of death threats she receives online.
The Brisbane-raised Bachelor star has been vocal about the trolling she received in the two years since the dating show, which has intensified since she began regularly sharing her support for vaccinations on her social media account.
“The anti-vaxxer trolls, they’re a new breed,” she told HIT Queensland’s breakfast with Cliffo & Gabi on Thursday.
“It’s been two years of that (trolling) so it doesn’t really bother me.”
But when asked to describe the worst of the online trolling she received, Chatfield replied “I get death threats a lot”.
“Voice note death threats are the worst ones; the text ones are fine, but the voice notes are scary,” she continued.
“And the cops can’t do anything so you just have to put them in a folder. I just screen record it and I’m like just in case something happens to me they’ll know who did it.”
The radio hosts asked Chatfield if the threats scared her.
“Yeah I’m pretty scared,” she replied. “I do double check my locks at night.”
Having also appeared on Bachelor in Paradise, Chatfield now hosts podcast It’s A Lot and is the new host of Love Island Afterparty, which airs on Thursday.
