Raptor Squad detectives have released shocking CCTV footage as part of an investigation into an attempted home invasion in NSW’s Central Tablelands.
Police said a man was inside a Lithgow home when three men armed with a shotgun, machete and wearing balaclavas tried to kick in a back door last November.
The men fled when they were unable to get in.
On Thursday, police spoke to a 50-year-old man and 28-year-old woman at the Lawrence Street home the men had attempted to enter.
Police searched the home and allegedly seized a pistol, sawn-off shotgun and magazine. The items will undergo forensic examination.
The attempted home invasion came to the attention of police investigating the alleged supply of methylamphetamine in the Lithgow area.
In December 2022, officers from the Raptor Squad and Chifley Police District established Strike Force Marien to investigate the drug’s supply in the region.
On December 28, a 31-year-old man was arrested after a vehicle stop in Kingswood.
Police allege 150g of methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was found in the car.
The street value of the drug is about $75,000.
The man was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with supply indictable quantity prohibited drug and possess instructions for manufacture of prohibited drug.
No arrests have been made in relation to the home invasion or items seized during the Lawrence Street search warrant.
On Friday, police released vision of the attempted home invasion and appealed for information.
