Raptor Squad detectives have released shocking CCTV footage as part of an investigation into an attempted home invasion in NSW’s Central Tablelands.

Police said a man was inside a Lithgow home when three men armed with a shotgun, machete and wearing balaclavas tried to kick in a back door last November.

The men fled when they were unable to get in.

On Thursday, police spoke to a 50-year-old man and 28-year-old woman at the Lawrence Street home the men had attempted to enter.

Police searched the home and allegedly seized a pistol, sawn-off shotgun and magazine. The items will undergo forensic examination.
