The former partner of bikie boss Mark Buddle has been seen for the first time since she was locked up in a Turkish detention centre.

Mel Ter Wisscha, 37, emerged on social media in a series of videos where she is dancing and laughing with a friend after spending 38 days imprisoned for visa issues.

The videos posted on TikTok showed Ms Ter Wisscha while she was on holidays in Greece in November. She later returned to Dubai where she has lived for the past seven years since she and Buddle left Australia.

In one video, posted by her best friend Leah Simone, Ms Ter Wisscha’s face is superimposed inside a police car with the caption “been locked up” beneath it.

Another video shows Ms Ter Wisscha looking stunning in a Christian Dior bikini while dancing, and then posing beside a swimming pool.

Ms Ter Wisscha was detained by authorities in Bodrum on July 22, just a fortnight after Buddle, 37, was arrested in Northern Cyprus during a night raid involving Interpol.

She had been living between the Turkish seaside town and the United Arab Emirates since she and Buddle split in 2021.

Sources close to Ter Wisscha said she was given little information about what her visa issues were, but authorities said the Australian woman was deemed a foreigner who posed a risk to public order and security.

She did not face any charges.

The mother of Buddle’s two children was still in detention when he was deported from Turkey to Australia on August 1, and charged over a $40 million cocaine seizure.

Police allege Buddle was linked to a criminal syndicate operating out of Asia and Europe where he sent encrypted messages using the ANOM app to co-ordinate the shipment of the cocaine from Hong Kong to Melbourne, in May 2021.

Buddle remains in custody and faces life in jail if found guilty.

With help from Australian embassy officials, Ms Ter Wisscha was released from detention in late August and flew back to Dubai where she was reunited with her children.

It is understood Ms Ter Wisscha and her children spent Christmas and New Year in Dubai with her family who visited from Sydney.
