Man dies after being pulled from burning storage unit above Sydney restaurant
A 55-year-old man has died after being rescued from a fire above a restaurant in Sydney’s northwest, as police launch an investigation into the cause of the early morning blaze.

A man has died following a fire that tore through a commercial storage unit above a restaurant in Sydney’s northwest on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to Oxford St in Epping shortly before 4.20am after nearby residents reported hearing screams coming from the property.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, which had broken out in a storage unit located above the Domino’s restaurant.
A 55-year-old man was found inside the unit and treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition. He died a short time later.
Up to eight fire trucks and 30 firefighters remain on site, working to determine what sparked the blaze.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
