Macksville child sex offender Christopher Fletcher’s explicit, threatening and ‘I love you’ messages
A child predator shared a sexual fantasy to “kill” opponents of his disturbing relationship with a child before he tried to discard evidence as detectives swarmed his property.
A Macksville child predator who told an underage victim he loved her and wanted to kill anyone who would “sh-t” on their relationship threw his mobile phone into bushes as detectives closed in, court documents reveal.
Christopher Shane Fletcher, 39, discarded the device as Coffs Harbour Child Sexual Abuse Squad officers raided his property in March of this year.
In agreed facts before the court, Fletcher told police he had thrown the phone away in anger over poor mobile reception, but eventually retrieved the device and officers seized it.
Police also obtained the victim’s phone, with examination of both devices revealing the unlawful relationship between Fletcher and a child he had groomed - who considered him as a “father figure”.
The court documents revealed disturbing messages Fletcher had sent to the child, ranging from declarations of love to graphic sexual content and violent threats.
Fletcher wrote: “I love you so much. You’re my everything,” while others contained explicit descriptions of sexual acts.
In one disturbing exchange, Fletcher wrote: “I just have the urge to f-ck you in front of every single person that has ever shit on us. Then kill them.”
Forensic examination of both phones revealed 44 images and nine videos, with 41 of those images and seven of those videos classified as child abuse material.
Fletcher had deleted extensive messages and images from his device, however investigators recovered the material from the victim’s phone.
On November 25, Fletcher pleaded guilty in Coffs Harbour Local Court to three charges: procuring a child under 14 years for sexual activity, intentionally performing a sexual act with a child older than 10 but younger than 16 years, and possessing child abuse material.
Bail was formally refused with no application made by the defence.
Fletcher will return to court for sentencing on 18 February 2026.
