The high-profile underworld figure regarded as “the last man standing” for the notorious Hamzy family has been extradited back to Sydney in a late-night trip on a private police plane, as two of his cousins were being arrested over an alleged kidnapping.

Ibrahem Hamze, 27, was arrested on the Gold Coast on Monday over his alleged role in a shooting outside a Prospect gym in Sydney’s west last November where an associate of the rival Alameddine clan was shot.

Terrifying CCTV from the alleged attack captured a stray bullet barely missing a child in a nearby daycare.

Hamze, his girlfriend and another relative fled Sydney for the Gold Coast in the wake of his cousin Ghassan Amoun being murdered on January 6, police sources told The Daily Telegraph.

But Queensland Police assisted their southern counterparts on Monday afternoon and arrested Hamze who has now been charged by NSW Police with a bevy of serious offences relating to not only the shooting, but also his alleged efforts in directing the Hamzy organised crime network and large commercial drug supply.

The young alleged leader of the underworld crew was flown into Bankstown Airport on Tuesday night with a police guard.

There Hamze was charged with two counts of solicit or encourage murder, four counts of shoot with intent to murder, fire firearm in public place, acquire pistol subject to a firearms prohibition order and three counts of supply prohibited firearm.

He was also charged with two counts of directing a criminal group, two counts of large commercial drug supply and contravening a serious crime prevention order (SCPO).

But it was not only the alleged Prospect shooting for which Hamze was wanted, with he and two of his cousins — Tareek and Haissam Hamzy — and two other associates also charged over a kidnapping in Merrylands last September.

Shocking footage of the incident showed a man being bundled into a Toyota Hiace van by a number of men wearing hoods or masks.

He was charged with a number of serious offences, including over a shooting at a Prospect gym last November.

Hamze, the Hamzys and El-Chamys, were all charged with take or detain in company and are due to face Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday.

Hamze has survived multiple attempts on his life as Sydney’s gang war raged over the past 18 months, his brother Bilal Hamze, and cousins Mejid Hamze and Amoun, have not been so lucky with all three gunned down in eerily similar circumstances.
