A major factory fire broke out in Chipping Norton, in Sydney’s southwest last night, with 100 firefighters responding to the blaze.
The fire erupted on Rickard Street at around 6pm Thursday night and required 25 firetrucks to contain the flames.
Firefighters were able to save adjoining businesses, however, the warehouse where the fire first broke out was destroyed.
No one was injured in the event. Firefighters are yet to determine the cause of the blaze, with investigations to occur later today.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry told ABC, the furniture inside the warehouse provided a high fuel load for the fire.
“It is too early to know what caused the blaze, the main effort at the moment is to get the fire out,” he said.
Meanwhile, a bushfire emergency has been announced in Curraweela, near Goulburn, with residents warned to ‘watch conditions’.
The fire has been burning out of control since Thursday, and has so far burnt 2686ha of bushland.
While conditions did ease overnight, firefighters are expecting activity to increase on Friday, as the day warms up and the winds pick up.

The fires come as NSW is hit by a four-day heat surge, with temperatures climbing to 40C in some towns.
