Western Sydney Minister Stuart Ayres said the cash splash was the official “open to business sign” for the region.

“The Bradfield Aerotropolis is a game-changer for NSW. Its focus on STEM jobs will set up the state to rebound strongly in a post pandemic world,” he said.

“The Aerotropolis is about NSW owning the economic future and creating the jobs our economy will need to keep growing after COVID-19.

“This will set up Western Sydney to power the national economy into the next century.”

More than $50 million has been committed to build the region’s first building which will house shared-use equipment for research institutes and industry leaders to collaborate on.
