NT Police have arrested a man with two outstanding warrants, who had tried to evade police by jumping the fences of houses.

NT Police have arrested a man wanted for two outstanding warrants who had tried to evade police by jumping the fences of houses in Alice Springs.
The man, 23, was apprehended Thursday morning near Bloomfield Street in Gillen.
Police say officers from Strike Force Viper, supported by officers from General Duties and the Dog Operation Unit, began conducting inquiries around 11am throughout Gillen to locate and arrest the male in question.

“Officers actively worked together with the assistance of the public to apprehend the man who was not considered to be a risk to the public,” NT Police Superintendent Antony Deutrom said.
“Members of the public may have seen increased policy activity throughout the suburb of Gillen this morning.
“Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance and patience whilst this operation was underway.”
The 23-year-old was remanded to appear in court on Thursday.
