ALICE Springs mayoral hopeful Jimmy Cocking has upped the ante in the election race with a slick new campaign video and jingle.

ALICE Springs mayoral hopeful Jimmy Cocking has upped the ante in the election race with a slick new campaign video and jingle.

Mr Cocking said he was approached by long-time friend and musician Bill Davis, who offered to write the town councillor a tune to help with his election efforts.

“Bill said to me the last time he wrote a jingle was for Warren Snowden’s campaign in the 80s,” he said.

“I was really flattered.”

He said the jingle and accompanying video gave a good indication of the kind of job he would do as mayor.

“It requires someone who’s prepared to listen and prepared to work with others to make things happen,” he said.

“It’s the only way we’re going to solve the challenges of our time.”
