A WHOPPING 51 entries made the Mercury’s Best Craft Beer in Tassie poll, but only one will come out on top.

Tassie staples such as Moo Brew and Cascade pale ales are ranked in the top ten, as well as multiple entries for Last Rites.

Owner and marketing manager at T-Bone Brewing Co in North Hobart Cala Bignell who makes one of the frontrunning beers said she’s chuffed people are voting in their product.

“We believe the Choc-Milk Stout is so popular with the punters because they’re intrigued by the name, give it a go, and they’re hooked,” she said.

“It’s also been around since day one, so quite a few years now.

“People give it a pretty good wrap, it’s great to know people are giving it a vote and we really appreciate their support.”

Other well-regarded breweries such as Hobart Brewing Co and Two Metre tall made an appearance, with beers ranging from 8 per cent double IPAs to wild fermented natural ales.
