UPDATE: Parap Pool reopened at midday on Friday, after a break-in on Thursday night caused it to close while damage was repaired and cleaned up, and so police could process the scene for evidence and gather fingerprints.
A Darwin council spokeswoman said: “We will reopen at 12pm. Police have fingerprinted and we are finishing cleaning up the glass.”
“Thieves broke in and took a couple of cash boxes, which they would have discovered very quickly were empty because there is no cash left on the premises.”
EARLIER: Parap pool has been closed after a break-in overnight left some damage to the complex which will require repairs and a clean-up.
A Darwin council spokeswoman said police were investigating the incident.

“I can confirm that Parap pool was broken into last night,” she said.
“There has been some damage to the facility and the police investigation is ongoing.”
The pool facility took damage during the break-in and will be closed until it can be safely opened.
“Some repairs will be required,” the spokeswoman said.
“On that basis the pool will remain closed until further notice.”
