A CONVICTED drug dealer and bikie associate has been sent back to jail just months after being released for previous drug-related offending.

Daniel Brown, 27, pleaded guilty to driving while using a phone, failing to produce a licence on request and driving with meth in his system last week.

He was also sentenced for breaching a five-month suspended jail sentence for a raft of drug and weapon possession charges issued in June.

It came after he was arrested in January when police searched a shed in Yarrawonga and found him to be in possession of a small amount of meth, several dangerous weapons and more than $2000 cash from the sale of meth.

The NT News understands those charges came after Brown was arrested alongside Hells Angels sergeant-at-arms Phil O’Shea in January as part of a major meth bust.

During sentencing on Monday, Darwin Local Court judge Greg Cavanagh said he was disappointed to see Brown back in court so soon.

“I do not regard the breach as trivial,” he said.

“There is an attitude of some disobedience, in my view, especially as you did it only two weeks after I gave you that very lenient sentence (for the previous drug offending).”

Mr Cavanagh restored one month of his prison sentence and fined him a total of $1050 for the most recent offending.

“I warned him directly, explicitly that if he came back in breach, he would give me the five months owed me,” he said.

“I understand he’s contrite, he’s sorry. I’m not going to crush him. I’m not going to restore all the five months that he owes.

“I’m going to make it one, otherwise it would make rather a mockery of the processes.”

Brown, who has been in custody since September 16, will be released in about two weeks. “If you come back again, you’ll owe four. I warn you that you can expect to serve that unless there’s something extraordinary,” Judge Cavanagh said.
