A 15-year-old student from Kardinia International College has received one of the highest ATARs across the region – notching a near-perfect score.
Kardinia International College student Zane Gates, 15, landed a top ATAR of 99.8 making him one of the highest, and youngest, achievers across the state.
More than six per cent of Kardinia students received an ATAR above 95, 15 per cent received an ATAR above 90, while students averaged an ATAR score of 72.
Mr Gates said he didn’t check his score until midday, despite results being released at 7am.
“I don’t really care about it all that much, I’ve never been someone to worry about a certain number, but I guess 99.8 isn’t bad,” Zane said.
“I’m much more proud of everything I’ve learnt this year rather than the number.”
