While he’s here on the Gold Coast with other Supercar drivers, he’s hoping to blow off some celebration steam and show the team around.
ATG: Welcome back to the Gold Coast. You spent most of 2018 living here, are you glad to be back?
JLB: I was living in Hope Island. I spent a lot of time around that area. Myself and my team manager Adrian Burgess used to ride down to the end of The Spit quite often.
ATG: Did you bring anyone with you for your quick trip?
JLB: My partner and everyone is at home — it’s just myself on the road at the moment. I’ve got it easier than some people. I don’t have kids. Some of the crew have little ones and it would be challenging. We’re all a big family anyway, so we will help each other get through it.

ATG: After spending some time on the Gold Coast, you must know your way around. Will you be showing any of the drivers some hot spots?
JLB: I hope to get out and about and do some stuff. I don’t know exactly what we will do yet, we will play it by ear. Hopefully something with the nice weather coming up next week.
ATG: Huge congratulations on your first Supercar win. How did you celebrate?
JLB: I couldn’t do a lot actually. Myself and Cam (Waters) had a couple of beers and played some PlayStation. It was very quiet. We’re staying at Sea World Resort and had a big team dinner. It was probably the first time we have all been in the one spot and caught up properly.
