SETTING patients at ease is a top priority for Tasmanian dentist Jessica Peters.
Dr Peters, who has worked at Bayfield Dental for the past seven years, was voted by Mercury readers as Tasmania’s top dentist.
She was thrilled to hear the news, which had come as a big surprise while in hospital after giving birth to her second son, Charlie.
“I work really hard to build rapport with my patients and get to know the families that I treat,” she said.
“Finding out that patients took the time to vote for me is very rewarding.”
Dr Peters said she works hard to create an environment where her patients feel at ease.
“My aim is to provide high quality dental treatment to my patients in a caring, safe, and non-threatening environment,” Dr Peters said.
“This is made possible with high quality nursing staff and support that we have at Bayfield Dental.
“Clear communication is also a focus of my dental care, to ensure my patients understand what is going on in their mouths and are able to make informed decisions about their dental health.
“I love dentistry and I love taking care of my patients.”
Runners up included Dr Jacques Cawood at Hobart Family Dental, Dr Ian Gurner of Ian Gurner Dental Care, Dr Martin Fernando at City Dental, and Dr Girish Sasidharan of Island Dental.
