Crew Faced Makeup Artistry voted Geelong’s No.1 beauty salon

Geelong’s best beauty salon has been decided in a nailbiting vote. Here’s who the Addy’s subscribers chose as their No.1.

A salon racking up a suite of business and makeup artistry awards had added the title of Geelong’s No. 1 beauty salon as voted by Addy subscribers.

Lara-based Crew Faced Makeup Artistry took the top gong with 12 per cent of the vote in a close finish with Highton’s MEK Beauty Clinic from a poll featuring nearly 30 salons nominated via social media.

A huge team of seven makeup artists are behind Crew Faced Makeup Artistry’s brilliance including owner Jessica Anderson, who was appreciative of some positive news in a challenging week for the industry.

“With the bookings filling up and taking this recognition on board just makes it so much more worthwhile. The journey so far has been incredible,” she said.

“We’re genuine, we offer a personalised and customised experience, we’ve got an authentic crew and have a big team, so we can facilitate more appointments and we are mobile.

“We’re growing and getting recognition all over Victoria.”

Ms Anderson said clients loved the Lara studio, which opened in March 2020.

While that proved difficult, it allowed the option to rent another adjoining space to keep the business moving during restrictions and keep staff employed right through lockdowns.

Ms Anderson said an ongoing 15-year career as a flight attendant had helped her keep abreast of world beauty trends which she applied in the salon.

Crew Faced Makeup Artistry also won honours at the 2020 Geelong Business Excellence Awards and the 2021 Bridal Makeup Artists’ Bride’s Choice Awards.
