A Coldplay superfan from Geelong who postponed her honeymoon to see the band play live has described the surreal moment she was invited on stage by Chris Martin along with her newlywed husband.

April Brown, of East Geelong, alongside her husband James Spencer attended the Coldplay concert in Sydney on Thursday night.

Ms Brown, a superfan who has been following Coldplay since 2008, had a sign with her saying that she had postponed her honeymoon to see Coldplay.

Chris Martin then invited her and her husband on stage and played his song “Magic” at their request.

“Everyone wants to have that moment, everybody has their sign out wanting to be picked to do the song,” Ms Brown said.

“That section is called songbook, and I couldn’t believe that of all the people, he picked us. I’m still in shock, I can’t believe it.

“It’s just wild, you can see so many faces from the stage.

“Everybody’s just really happy for you, it feels crazy that everyone at the stadium is looking at you, it’s a bit intimidating, but we also felt really welcomed by everybody.”

Ms Brown has seen Coldplay perform in various countries including America, Thailand, Greece, Sweden and Germany and had tickets to see Coldplay perform over four nights in Sydney.

“I managed to convince my now husband to move the dates of our honeymoon so we could attend the Sydney shows as well as the Melbourne shows.”

“It’s such a good show, there are so many lovely moments where they try and get the crowd, and you can feel that they are really genuine and they want everyone to just have a really good time.

“There’s the fireworks, there’s the LED wristbands, everyone just feels so included and happy, which is really nice.

Ms Brown said one of the first questions she asked her husband was if he liked Coldplay.

“He has been kind of swept up on this tour life now and he loves them just as much as me,” she said.
