Erin Holland’s confidence has taken a hit over the past couple of years.

The TV presenter and model said going through fertility treatment to prepare to one day become a mother has taken its toll mentally and physically.

“I did feel a real sense of loss and inadequacy just in my physical self and I think confidence is something that has swayed up and down my entire life,” Holland explained.

“I am so confident some days and others not at all and for the first time I think I’ve felt what it is like to have days that are really a struggle.

“Some days it is not me, it is just the hormones that you are putting into your body and the stress you are going through. It is a lot to process.”

Holland openly shared her journey on social media as she went through four rounds of egg harvesting after being diagnosed with polycystic ovaries.

The 34-year-old is married to cricketer Ben Cutting and was on Sunday announced as the new ambassador for Mx Skincare, an Australian owned and made cosmeceutical brand for all skin types, ages, genders and ethnicities.

“I’ve always been blessed to have good skin but since starting the IVF journey and having to expose myself to a whole bunch of hormones, I have to pay a lot more attention to what I am putting on my skin,” she explained.

“Adult acne was one other thing to add to the list I suppose of inadequacies I was feeling. I know logically that is not the case but the thing about going through IVF is I did feel that huge sense of inadequacy.

“When you spend your life in front of the camera, it really did knock the confidence out of me to struggle with my skin.

“I was already feeling pretty average on the inside and I felt like my skin was average on the outside there for a while as well. It did rock my confidence.”
