Aussie singer Charley and TV presenter Erin Holland travel globally to further their careers — but are stepping our for Vogue in Sydney this week.

Aussie model's charity pledge

Charley is a singer with big dreams.

With millions of likes on TikTok and an ever-growing social media footprint, the rising star of Aussie music is hopeful of one day playing one of the most prestigious venues in the world in New York.

“My dream is just to be able to keep doing this,” Charley told The Daily Telegraph.

“I love writing so much, it is my version of therapy really. And performing, even though it is excruciatingly scary, it is the one thing that I lose time with.

“Whatever happens will happen with it, hopefully I am selling out Madison Square Garden (one day). You have to (have big dreams).”

Charley, whose real name is Claire Howell, may be known to some for appearing on reality singing show The Voice before being signed to EMI Music Australia.

She has made her mark with singles including Timebom and Worst Taste in Girls and has toured with the likes of G Flip, Stephen Sanchez and Griff.

Next up is a support slot for Fletcher.

Before that tour kicks off later this month, Charley will Thursday night perform at an exclusive event for Vogue Australia and Chery Motor Australia to premiere the Chery Omoda E5 and Tiggo 4 Pro at Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden.

“I know my sound is generally pop but in saying that, I love experimenting with country and ‘80s and even if it is a bit of darkness to it, I feel like my music sits in a dance genre,” Charley said.

“The continuity, the one main thing is my voice and my writing style, I think that is kind of it really.”

TV presenter Erin Holland meanwhile is hosting the Chery event.

From never flying as a young girl, Holland, 35 has certainly made up for it as an adult in 2024.

“I think I’m on about like 85 flights from this year and I usually average around 130 each year, it’s a bit hectic,” Holland told Confidential.

“I was never a kid that got to travel growing up, I grew up in Cairns and we never travelled until I was in my early 20s after winning Miss Australia.

“Since then it’s been trying to pack as much in as I can.”

With husband Ben Cutting based in Brisbane and Holland in Sydney, it’s bare minimum two flights a week.

Most of her travels are cricket-related, taking her to destinations like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Africa this year alone.

America is next on her list, but her favourite travel spot remains Malta.

When she’s not jetsetting, Holland spends much of her time on the road and on Thursday night she will host an exclusive event for Vogue Australia and Chery Motor Australia to premiere the Chery Omoda E5 and Tiggo 4 Pro at Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden.

“I spend my life in my car, I drive everywhere in Sydney, and I love having the autonomy to do that.

“But when you spend your time in your car, I think how comfortable it is, how easy it is to drive, how fuel efficient it is, all of those things are really important — Chery just sits at that beautiful sweet spot.”
