“I wasn’t thinking about how I would be perceived by others — that doesn’t bother me. I was just being real and honest with myself,” he says.
“If people don’t like me for that, I can’t control that, so it doesn’t bother me.”
Dean, 39, who was paired with single mum Tracey Jewel, 34, admits he had no ulterior motives when he agreed to meet up with Rankin, 26, a rendezvous that later led to them both deciding to leave their respective partners at this Sunday’s ‘Commitment Ceremony.’
“Davina and I met up to discuss the fact that neither of us were really happy with our matches,” he explains.
“I did feel a bit of a flirty vibe from Davina at the dinner party, but I didn’t think anything more of it after that.”
But despite this, he does admit he felt some remorse about the way things have played out.
“Yes, I felt quite a lot of guilt for being deceitful with Tracey,” he says.
So are Dean and Davina a done deal? And will he be partner swapping come Sunday night?
“Tracey and I have a lot of good things going on, and I (have) not made up my mind 100 per cent about leaving her for Davina,” he says.
“Tracey and I had already developed a very strong bond.”
