A constable has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one of unlawful assault.

A senior constable is facing one count of unlawful assault.

They were among three members suspended in the aftermath of the allegations going public.

It is alleged the incident, which followed a welfare check on the disability pensioner, happened in September last year.

Force command later admitted the incident had led to a loss of confidence in the complaints process.

The two officers will face Melbourne Magistrates Court on October 11.
