Two people have died in a horror crash with a truck on the Mornington Peninsula. The double fatal is the latest tragedy in a deadly few days on Victorian roads.

Two people have died in a horror crash with a truck on the Mornington Peninsula.

A car and truck collided near the intersection of Myers and Coolart roads in Balnarring about 1.30pm on Monday afternoon.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said that the two rear passengers of the car died at the scene.

“The driver of the truck was uninjured,” Sgt Anita Brens said.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed that the car’s driver, a 52-year-old man was taken to Frankston Hospital with minor injuries.

Police are investigating the incident.

The crash follows another horrific weekend on Victorian roads, where two men died in separate collisions.

A 60-year-old man died in Bonang on Sunday morning when his car struck a tree on Bonang Rd and caught fire.

An 88-year-old man died after a two-car collision in North Geelong on Saturday.

The Victorian road toll now stands at 120 lives lost this year.
