A QUICK-thinking tradie has managed to sprint after his van and open the car door as it pulled out of his Mornington work carpark before performing a citizen’s arrest on a man who allegedly tried to steal it.
The worker was alerted to the alleged attempted theft happening in the carpark about 3.30pm today.
By the time he got outside, his vehicle was pulling out.

The 25-year-old sprinted after the work van and managed to open the driver’s side door.
The vehicle kept going, but the thief fell out.
The tradie pinned the alleged thief to the ground and was helped by passers-by until officers arrived.
Police later charged a 33-year-old Carrum Downs man with theft of a motor vehicle.
He is due to appear at the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on September 13.
