Transit police and protective services officers in the Werribee area have received almost 60 iPad minis and iPhones.

They will initially give officers access to operational information including the ability to perform person checks.
Police Minister Lisa Neville said the devices would improve responsiveness, accountability and efficiency by ensuring information was captured and shared quickly.
In time they will also used for tasks like capturing evidence, completing electronic patrol duty returns and computer aided dispatch.
The State Government has pledged to deploy the devices statewide by the end of 2019.
Extra units will also be given to help new recruits and in other areas — bringing the total number of new devices over the next five years to more than 10,000.
Deputy Police Commissioner Andrew Crisp said: “This step is among the many Victoria Police is undertaking to ensure it is a modern, versatile and well-equipped law enforcement agency.”
“With this new technology, frontline officers will be able to access and deliver timely, relevant and real-time information,’’ he said.
“Police will be able to use that information to perform risk assessments and make operational decisions more quickly.”
The technology will replace Victoria Police’s antiquated fax system of sending out information.
It is part of a $227 million overhaul to make the force more modern and efficient.
