Police sergeant caught drink-driving in Box Hill

It’s been a hectic 24 hours for police with a sergeant having her licence cancelled after being busted for drink-driving and a police car being rammed in West Footscray.

A police officer has lost her licence after being busted drink-driving last night.

The sergeant, from a specialist Victoria Police unit, allegedly recorded a reading of .082 at a testing site on Whitehorse Rd, Box Hill, just after 8pm.

The officer was fined $496 and her licence was cancelled and disqualified for 6 months.

A stolen 4WD rammed a police car in West Footscray this morning.

Police arrested two men and a woman following the incident at 4.30am.

The officers tried to stop the stolen Toyota 4WD travelling west on Barkly St before the driver accelerated and rammed the police car.

Officers used OC foam before arresting the trio.

The driver, a 24-year-old Albanvale man and his two passengers, a 23-year-old Deer Park man and a 27-year-old Altona Meadows woman, are being interviewed by police.

The police car was damaged but the officers inside were uninjured.
