Police have identified a man they hoped to speak to after a teenage girl was assaulted in broad daylight in the CBD. The girl was allegedly attacked in Little Bourke St last year.

A man sought by police after a teenage girl was assaulted in broad daylight in Melbourne’s CBD has been identified.
The girl was assaulted in Little Bourke St at 1pm on August 2 last year.
Police released a picture of a man they wished to speak to on Tuesday, describing him as caucasian, aged between 30 and 40, over 180cm tall with a pot belly and long dark brown hair and beard.
Numerous tips about the man’s identity were quickly received by Victoria Police.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police are following up a number of avenues of enquiry and thank the community for their assistance.’’
“As the investigation remains ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

Detectives from Melbourne’s Sexual Offence and Child Investigation Team identified the man, who has not been arrested or charged.
