Pedestrian killed in Dandenong South

A PEDESTRIAN has died in Melbourne’s southeast this morning after being struck by a car travelling on the Dandenong Bypass near Hammond Road.

A PEDESTRIAN has died in Melbourne’s southeast this morning.

It is believed the pedestrian was struck by a Toyota Corolla sedan travelling west on Dandenong Bypass, near Hammond Road in Dandenong South around 5.30 this morning.

The yet to be formally identified pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver, a man in his 40s, is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are at the scene this morning.

The Dandenong Bypass is closed between Hammond Road and Frankston-Dandenong Road.

Police are keen to speak to eyewitnesses, or anyone who may have dash cam footage.
