A MAN who allegedly defaced a memorial to murdered comedian Eurydice Dixon has been charged with criminal damage, offensive behaviour and making offensive graffiti.
Melbourne North Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested and charged the 31-year-old man following the incident earlier this month at Princes Park, Carlton North.
The lewd graffiti was discovered by police at the makeshift memorial site about 3.50am on June 18, the day a planned vigil was to be held.

The Bulleen man was arrested this morning following a search warrant.
He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on August 10.
Fire crews used water and brooms to remove the offensive material, reportedly 25 metres in size, which appeared to be deliberately painted next to the floral memorial at the park.
Park workers covered the remainder of the site with a white material to hide what was unable to be cleaned away.
Local resident Sue Murray, who has frequented Princes Park for years, said: “It’s just disgraceful. We live in a world of sick people.”
Police believe the young comedian, also known as “Ridi”, was followed by her killer after her performance at the Highlander Bar, in the southern CBD.
Jaymes Todd, 19 of Broadmeadows, is charged with her rape and murder.
Ms Dixon’s death captured the hearts of Australians, with more than 10,000 attending vigils in her honour, including at Princes Park where her body was found.
Her death prompted comment from state and territory leaders including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
Friends created a song for her.
Some 100 mourners farewelled Ms Dixon at a private funeral a week ago in Brunswick.
