A car and a cafe have been badly damaged during a series of arson attacks in Greensborough overnight.
Police believe a person went on a rampage through the suburb just before midnight last night, starting at a car near the Greensborough railway station.
It is believed the perpetrator then headed to Main St where they set Greensborough’s Kebab and Cafe takeaway shop alight and smashed the window of Gas Shop next door.
Emergency services were first called the fire in the Mazda about 11.30pm Thursday.
The car was fully alight by the time the MFB arrived.
While police and fire crews were at the car fire, a passer-by alerted them to a second fire on nearby Main St.
Both the fires were quickly extinguished and no one was injured.
The exact cause of the fires is not yet known but police believe they are linked and they are being treated as suspicious.
