Detective Senior Constable Adam Leggo, from Maroondah’s Criminal Investigation Unit, said the case was an “extremely upsetting” one, in which the offender had preyed on an elderly and vulnerable woman for his own benefit.
“To approach an elderly woman in her own home and to take such a large amount of money from her is a senseless act,” he said.
