Police confirmed a man was transported to hospital with stab wounds to his leg after an altercation broke out between three men on the corner of Foster and Lonsdale streets in Dandenong shortly after 2.30pm.
It’s understood the victim had attended court only moments before he was set upon.
The exact circumstances surrounding the assault are not yet known.
Witnesses told the Herald Sun they heard people screaming and saw a man clutching his leg after the attack.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed paramedics transported the victim to Dandenong Hospital where the man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
