A perverted creep who used a 11-year-old girl’s love of Kim Kardashian to lure her into his home and assault her, has avoided jail — despite the victim’s long wait for her abuser to admit to the “shameful” crimes.

A creep preyed on an 11-year-old girl’s love of Kim Kardashian to lure her into his home where he made her watch the American socialite’s sex tape.
Paul Light, 51, was looking after her over the school holidays when he assaulted her in April 2013.
The builder had taken the girl to McDonalds and on the return trip to her home, he stopped at his house, telling her he needed to pick something up.
The shocking details of his crimes were aired as Light avoided jail after finally admitting his crimes on the eve of his County Court trial last week.
Judge Michael Tinney said it was “unmistakably strange offending” which has had a long-lasting impact on his young victim.
“You were in a position of trust and again you abused that position,” Judge Tinney said.
“You knew that she loved Kim Kardashian. You mentioned that you would show her something with her idol.
“That was undoubtedly a device to get her in front of your computer.
“You then sought out the explicit footage. What you then showed her as she sat on your knee was a Kardashian sex tape which showed Kardashian stroking a man’s penis. Indeed each participant in the footage was touching the others genitals. Each were making moaning noises.”
Judge Tinney said the young girl became uncomfortable after watching the porn for about 30 seconds, jumping off his lap as she didn’t want to see or hear it any more.
In an earlier incident, Light chased the girl up and down the hall, trying to tickle her, and when she fell to the ground, he said “it’s time to pull your undies down”.
“You did so, pulling her pants and underpants down in one movement and smacking her on the bottom,” Judge Tinney told Light.
“What game were you actually playing? You should quite actually be ashamed of yourself.”
In 2017, when the incidents were reported to police, Light was charged with two counts of committing an indecent act with a child under 16.
But following a drawn-out legal case, in a deal with the prosecution, the father of two pleaded guilty last week to one charge of common assault on the eve of his trial. He also admitted a summary offence relating to a breach of the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995.
Judge Tinney convicted and fined Light a total of $5000, saying his plea, while at a late stage, had spared his victim, now 17, from the trauma of giving evidence at court.

“The charges have of course changed, so too the maximum penalties, but the physical acts have not changed, that is the hallway incident and the Kardashian sex tape conduct,” Judge Tinney said.
In victim impact statements, the young girl told of how she was “embarrassed” and “angry”, but also “confused” as to why she had been targeted.
“She became wary of other people. She experienced a loss in trust in people,” Judge Tinney said.
The girl’s mother also questioned whether she did enough to protect her daughter.
“She perhaps feels some guilt,” Judge Tinney said.
“She shouldn’t. These were not her acts. It was not her fault they occurred. It was yours, Mr Light, and only yours.”
