A police officer accused of exposing his genitalia to a beauty therapist is back on the beat.

The senior constable was dismissed from the force after a disgraceful conduct charge was proved against him for revealing his penis to the female beauty therapist during a ‘manscaping’ session.

But a review of the dismissal found it was “harsh, unjust and unreasonable” and he has been reinstated by Victoria Police.

He was dismissed from the force on February 25 this year.

It was alleged he asked a beauty therapist to go “a little further” while lying on the waxing table during a pre-booked “speedo wax” at the day spa and wellness centre.

“The applicant pre-booked and attended a beauty salon for the purpose of receiving a ‘Speedo-line’ waxing treatment of his groin area,” the application review read.

“While the applicant was lying on his back on a waxing table with one leg bent receiving the ‘Speedo-line’ waxing treatment, it is alleged he caused a bath-sized towel covering his genitalia to be moved or re-positioned, while at the same time asking for the waxing treatment to go ‘a little further.’

“It is alleged that in moving the towel, the applicant intentionally exposed his erect penis to a waxing technician who responded by taking steps to cover the applicant’s exposed erect penis with the towel before continuing with and completing the ‘Speedo-line’ waxing treatment.”

The beauty therapist was “distressed” by the incident and reported him to her manager.

He was blocked from making future appointments at the salon and reported to Victoria Police.

The board heard the waxing therapist was triggered to report him after receiving a call from a different male client asking for the “youngest and prettiest girl”.

The officer denies he exposed his penis deliberately.

He has no previous history of indecent exposure or lewd behaviour toward female therapists or women at his workplace or personal life, according to evidence submitted to the board.

He has also made subsequent waxing appointments without incident and his wife and daughter are “frequent and well liked clients” at the same spa.
