BEWILDERED residents are searching everywhere for outdoor items after a spate of bizarre spate of thefts across Melbourne’s inner west.

“We lovingly restored the bench and a set of chairs that were also stolen a few weeks before, so it’s not just about the value,” Zoe told the Herald Sun.

But she’s far from the only one who has had outdoor furniture stolen in the area.

“We were also victim to having our outdoor furniture stolen,” Rebecca told 3AW this morning.

The Maidstone woman said her furniture set was stolen on Monday morning, around 7am.

“I’ve looked at the other footage and the culprits is wearing exactly the same clothing and it seems to be the same clothing,” she said.

Another woman, Mary from West Footscray said she had her set for 30 years before it disappeared.

“On Monday morning … my husband went outside to get the newspaper and our garden setting, three piece white aluminium had been taken away from our verandah,” she said.

“We’ve had it for nearly 30 years, my poor husband uses it to sit when he waits for taxis.”

All of them have been searching on eBay, Facebook and Gumtree to try and find the stolen items.

While similar pieces have been spotted it’s not clear if they are the missing furniture items.

Victoria Police are investigating the thefts and anyone with information has been urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
